When it comes to essential baby gear, a stroller is a must for walks in the neighborhood, errands at the mall or trips to the zoo or amusement park. A stroller should be safe, convenient, easy to open and close, durable and easily maneuverable. Handy storage areas, easy to clean fabric, functional sunshade and comfort are also important considerations. The top three selling strollers receive high marks overall from users in these categories. The First Years Ignite This stroller at a list price of $59.99 really has a lot of bang for the buck. First of all for a feature-rich durable model, it weighs a mere 14 pounds. Another big plus setting it apart from the pack? It can be used longer than most strollers, with a weight capacity of 50 pounds. (Most only go up to 30-35 pounds.) The Ignite is also popular because of the longer handles, which is a real back-saver for taller parents. It has a multi-position recline and an adjustable 5-point harness, as well as a large parent console and lower storage basket. Jeep Cherokee Sport Stroller Impulse This stroller has a list price of $59.99 but many parents think it rides and looks like a more expensive model. It weighs just 13.8 pounds and has a one-hand fold and freestands when folded for true ease of use. It has a multi-position reclining seat with 3-point buckle and an adjustable canopy with window and sun visor. The front wheels are all-terrain and shock-absorbing plus they swivel for an easy to maneuver ride. The weight limit is 35 pounds, and the storage options include 2 parent cupholders and one child cupholder, removable trays, a large basket and two removable cargo bags. Possible downsides? Some taller parents find it a bit too much of a reach, and some others wish for a seat that reclines completely flat. Graco LiteRider Stroller Weighing in at 17 pounds, this model lists at $69.99 and boasts a one-hand fold and a seat with two position recline and a convertible 3 and 5 point harness. The front wheels swivel with locks and suspension. The LiteRider accepts the Graco Snugride, Snugride 32 and Snugride 35 infant carseats, a nice convenience for parents who own those carseat models. Features include a pa... |
